In an alternate present-day version of Oakland, telemarketer Cassius Green discovers a magical key to professional success, propelling him into a universe of greed.

'Sorry to Bother You' is an ingenious comedy that explores the depths of racial and systemic oppression in the United States (and, by extension, much of the western world), starting with prejudice that skews economic opportunities, and reaching criticisms of consumerism, class gap and racial identity.
