Why watch this film?
The horrors of modern dating seen through one young woman's defiant battle to survive her new boyfriend's unusual appetites.
"The universe of contemporary relationships has created fears in situations that, before, were seen as normal or commonplace. This is the case with everyday bumping into each other, real-life ions, and exchanging phone numbers in a market. It is precisely in this last possibility that the thriller with horror airs 'Fresh' focuses on. Produced by streaming service Hulu, which arrived in Brazil through Star+, the feature film tells the story of Noa (Daisy Edgar-Jones), a young woman who meets the charming Steve (Sebastian Stan) in a supermarket and, due to frustration with dating apps, takes a chance and gives him her number. After a good first date, the protagonist accepts Steve's invitation to spend the weekend together. However, soon comes the fear (and risks!) of the unknown, with the new lover showing that he has hidden some unusual appetites. Directed by Mimi Cave, who makes her debut in feature films after a good filmography formed by short films and music videos, the feature film brings some interesting reflections on modern relationships and how the unknown has become a problem in everyday life."
